There are quite a lot of pictures of ships in my files. My daily work is closely related to ships and the harbor. I am a Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) operator at Riga Sea Port in Latvia. I have many ships passing by the windows every day, and photographing or shooting a little video is not hard.
Five years ago, I purchased my first drone, DJI Mavic 2 Zoom, and started filming relatively actively, including ships sailing in Riga Freeport—many thanks to the port management and the Harbour Master of the port of Riga for their permission. Much video and photo footage has been collected over these years, mostly flying and filming with drones, but there’s also something from the iPhone’s collection. It’s no secret to anyone that modern smartphones can take relatively good pictures and videos.
My YouTube channel is rich enough with ship videos, but to be honest, people are somewhat too lazy to watch videos, so I decided to start a new ship pictures and video site, Shippics.net, that will feature both images and links on my existing and emerging videos.
With filming and flying above water and from a deck of floating objects like boats and sailing yachts, there have been various situations, including drowning two drones purely out of their negligence or inexperience. Some used to say – it’s not a drone pilot who hasn’t lost at least one drone, LOL. All of us learn from our mistakes.
Have a pleasant viewing! If there is anything to comment on, then welcome. I’ll respond to healthy criticism and advice and take note.
I hope you find the information I provide valuable and helpful.
Good luck!
Andrejs.
